Quando Quango is an electro dance group from Manchester, UK, formed in Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1980. The group was established by a Hacienda DJ, who contributed to songwriting, along with Dutch siblings responsible for programming and drums. Reinier Rietveld left the group in 1983 to pursue his own project and was replaced by a percussionist. That same year, another member joined the group, but was soon replaced by his brother. They were signed to a label where they released a series of singles, with their earliest works produced by notable figures in the music scene. Their 1983 single "Love Tempo" became a dancefloor hit on both sides of the Atlantic and is regarded as a precursor to the US house scene. After releasing an album in 1985, the group disbanded. Some members went on to form new groups and played a significant role in the UK acid house scene.
