Formed in Bahia, Brazil in the early 1960s by sisters Cyva, Cynara, Cybele, and Cydá, Quarteto em Cy became one of the most distinctive vocal groups in Brazilian music. Celebrated for their exquisite harmonies and refined interpretations, they helped shape the sound of bossa nova and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira). Collaborating with icons such as Vinicius de Moraes, Baden Powell, and Tom Jobim, the group blended sophistication and warmth, leaving an enduring influence on Brazil’s musical landscape that continues through new lineups and generations.
