Quintessence was formed in 1969 and is known for their unique blend of jazz, progressive rock, Indian music, and new age rock. The band featured members Sambhu Babaji on bass, Dave Codling and Alan Mostert on guitar, Shiva Shankar Jones on keyboards and vocals, Jake Milton on drums, and Raja Ram on flute, piano, and vocals.
