R & J Stone was a singing act that gained significant success in 1976 with their self-penned worldwide hit "We Do It." The duo consisted of Russell and his wife Joanne, the "J" in R & J Stone. Their career was tragically cut short in 1979 when Joanne passed away from a brain tumor.
