Rafael Labasta was a Dominican trumpeter and orchestra leader who lived in Panama. He played with several notable bands, including those of Kako, Cortijo y Su Combo, Charlie Palmieri's La Duboney, Mon Rivera, Willie Rosario, and Tommy Olivencia. Labasta also collaborated with the legendary trio known as the big three: Machito, Tito Rodriguez, and Tito Puente.
