**Raging Slab Bio** Raging Slab is a hard/southern rock band formed in 1983 in New York, New York, USA. The band was established by guitarists and was last active in 2017. They recorded their first album, "Assmaster," in 1987, which was released on a New Jersey label and featured cover art by Marvel Comics artists Pat Redding and Pete Ciccone. In 1988, they added a third guitarist and released their second album, "True Death." In 1989, Raging Slab signed a multi-record contract with RCA Records and recorded their self-titled third album, produced by an unnamed producer. However, two subsequent albums, "From a Southern Space" and "Freeburden," were rejected by the label, leading to Def American buying out their contract with RCA. Their Def American debut, "Dynamite Monster Boogie Concert," was released in 1993. The following year, the band toured Europe, but their tour was cut short when then-drummer suffered knee injuries. Recordings for their second Def American album, "Black Belt in Boogie," were rejected by an unnamed producer, who stated he "didn't hear any songs" on it. This led to the departure of drummer Middleton, who cited "personal problems."
