**Bio:** Ragnarok was formed in 1994 in Norway by a drummer and a bassist who had just left their previous band, Thoth. They were soon joined by a vocalist and a guitarist, leading to the recording of their first demo, "Pagan Land," at Haga Audio. Unfortunately, the demo did not meet expectations due to the studio's lack of experience with Black Metal, resulting in a lukewarm response. In 1995, the band recorded the song "Et Vinterland I Nord" for a local compilation, which garnered positive feedback, prompting them to re-record their demo at X-Ray Studios. This version received a much better response, leading to their signing with a record label. They subsequently recorded their debut album, "Nattferd," released the same year, and played their first gig shortly after. In 1996, dissatisfied with their label, they initially left but were quickly re-signed under better terms for two more albums. They performed at the Elm Street bar in Oslo alongside Old Man's Child and were approached by Century Media, but had to decline due to their existing contract. In 1997, they recorded their second album, "Arising Realm," featuring Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir on keyboards.
