Rajna is a French duo known for their World Music, characterized by atmospheric layers of synthesizers, ethnic instruments, and an ethereal female voice. Founded in 1997 by Gerard Chambellant, Fabrice Lefebvre, and Jeanne Lefebvre, the group draws inspiration from Eastern cultures. They released three albums: "Ishati" and "Yahil," both in 1999, and "The Heady Wine of Praise" in 2001. After the departure of Gerard Chambellant, Rajna officially became a duo and released "The Door of Serenity" in 2002, followed by "Hidden Temple" in February 2004. In 2005, they partnered with the association "La Maison des Himalayas," donating all royalties from their album "Black Tears anthology" to help build a school for children in Nepal. In 2006, Rajna ventured into new sounds with the album "Otherwise." They also collaborated with Neapolitan composer Francesco Banchini under the name Khvarena, resulting in the album "The Spirit Rises," released in 2007.
