Rakim Allah, born on January 28, 1968, in Long Island, New York, is a rapper from Wyandanch, New York. He gained recognition in the late 1980s as one half of a hip-hop duo, which released four studio albums between 1987 and 1992, including the acclaimed Paid In Full, before disbanding in 1992. After a hiatus from recording, Rakim resumed his career as a solo artist with the release of The 18th Letter in 1997 and has continued to release music intermittently since then.
