Rakotozafy was a prominent Malagasy musician known for his mastery of the valiha, a traditional zither. Born in 1938 in the Lake Alaotra region of Madagascar, he made several recordings in 1962 that were released by a label. After this period, he largely disappeared from public view until shortly before his death around 1968.
