Ramin Djawadi (born 1974 in Duisburg, Germany) is an Iranian-German composer known for his orchestral music in film and television. He is the son of an Iranian immigrant who studied medicine in Munich and worked as a surgeon until retirement. Djawadi gained recognition for his roles as a composer for additional music, orchestrator, and assistant composer to Hans Zimmer on films such as Batman Begins and Pirates of the Caribbean. His film compositions include Blade: Trinity (in collaboration with RZA), Ask the Dust, Beat the Drum, Open Season, Mr. Brooks, Deception, and Iron Man.
