Ramiro Musotto was an Argentine master-percussionist born in La Plata and raised in Bahía Blanca. At the age of 18, he moved to Brazil, where he spent most of his professional career, living in São Paulo, Bahia, and Rio de Janeiro, while frequently returning to Argentina. Since 1982, he explored the rhythms of Brazil and became a master of the berimbau, using the instrument in various ways, including as percussion, melody, and with background loops. Musotto's music evolved from Afro-Brazilian grooves to a blend of multiethnic global influences, incorporating elements from Africa, South America, Asia, and Europe. He collaborated with numerous prominent artists, including Sergio Mendes, Caetano Veloso, Gato Barbieri, Daniela Mercury, Gilberto Gil, Marisa Monte, and Virginia Rodriguez. His debut album, "Sudaka," featured field recordings of Amazon Indian chants, Candomble spirit rhythms, Brazilian percussion, and everyday street sounds, layered over electronic dance grooves. He described it as “a psychedelic trip throughout and into the Afro-Brazilian and South American culture; an optimistic way of interpreting the effects of technology in our everyday life and art.” His most recent album, "Civilizacao & Barbarye" (released in Argentina as "Civilización y Barbarie"), was presented at WOMEX 2008 in Sevilla. Ramiro Musotto passed away on September 11, 2009, in Salvador da Bahia,
