Ramon Farran is a Spanish jazz drummer, composer, and conductor, born in Barcelona in 1939. He began playing drums at a young age in his father's big band, "Orquesta Plantación." His career focused on jazz-fusion, and he performed with notable artists such as Sonny Rollins, Don Byas, Chet Baker, and Joe Henderson. In the 1960s, he worked as a producer for Juan y Júnior and composed for Julio Iglesias. Additionally, he wrote the soundtrack for the TV series "Los marginados" and the film "Ilegally Yours," directed by Peter Bogdanovich. In 1999, he founded ONJAZZ, officially known as "Fundación Orquesta Nacional de Jazz de España" (FONJAZZ).
