Sparrow & Barbossa is a Madrid-based DJ and producer duo formed by Swiss musician Bryan Coletta and Uruguayan Emiliano Haberli. Bryan, a pianist from a musical family, is the son of legendary guitarist Francis Coletta, who collaborated with icons like Whitney Houston and Frank Sinatra. Emiliano, influenced by the African tribal rhythms of 'The Culture Of Candombe' from his native Uruguay, began his music career in Europe in 2004, connecting with Madrid's electronic music scene and working as a percussionist on DJ Chus's classic track 'El Amor.' The duo creates a unique fusion of organic instruments and electronic sounds, with Bryan contributing modern melodies and Emiliano enhancing the rhythmic elements. Their diverse backgrounds enrich their performances and releases, as they travel the world to share their love for ethnic and lost cultures through electronic music. Sparrow & Barbossa debuted in 2018 with a version of Mory Kante's classic 'Yeke,' which became a #1 Afro House record. In 2020, their remix of Fatoumata Diawara's 'Nterini' reached #2 in the Afro House category, garnering around 2 million plays on Spotify.
