Randy & the Rockets was a swamp pop band from Louisiana, formed in 1957 and led by Randy David. The band disbanded in 1972, having seen a total of thirty musicians pass through its ranks during its existence. Notably, eighteen of these musicians reunited for a special performance in 1983. The original lineup included Randy David on guitar, Dennis Norris on piano, Sonny Bourg on drums (1957-1958), Allan Broussard on saxophone (1957-195?), and Oran Richard on trumpet. Throughout its active years from 1957 to 1972, the band featured several other members, including Huey Darby (vocals, drums 1958-1960; 1963-1966), Dan Silas (saxophone, 195?- ), Butch Landry (bass, joined in 1960), and many others. The diverse lineup included musicians such as Percy Bernard, Murphy Bufford, Sonny Mayard, and Charles Schram, among others.
