Randy Greif is an innovative artist who has been exploring the boundaries of auditory arts since the mid-1970s. He often blends electronic, computer, and concrete music with spoken word, "sound theater," and field recordings. His location recordings from diverse regions such as Amazonia, New Guinea, and Thailand are frequently manipulated and incorporated into his music, giving it a distinctive "tribal" electronic sound. Greif's trademark style features dense layers of atmospherics, cut-up vocals, and shifting minimal rhythms, with his work often described as "dark" and "hallucinatory."
