Ranil y su Conjunto Tropical emerged from the Peruvian Amazon in the 1970s under the vision of singer, guitarist, and bandleader Ranil. Fusing psychedelic rock, cumbia, and tropical rhythms, the group became a cult icon for their hypnotic grooves and innovative sound rooted in the musical traditions of Iquitos. Years later, their recordings have been rediscovered by international audiences, celebrated for their raw energy, analog warmth, and pioneering role in shaping Amazonian cumbia’s global identity.
