Rao Kyao is a renowned Portuguese musician, composer, and skilled player of the saxophone and bamboo flute, born on August 23, 1947, in Lisbon. He has traveled extensively throughout the European jazz circuit and has lived in India, where he blended his music with various sounds and rhythms from Brazil, exemplified by his work "Bombaião." Kyao gained fame in Portugal for his adaptations of classic fado songs and frequently collaborated with Flamenco and African musicians. He is considered one of the most prominent world music artists in Portugal.
