Rare Silk was an American jazz vocal group that originated in Boulder, Colorado, in 1978 as a female vocalese trio. The group later expanded to include Todd Buffa, leading to the release of their jazzy swing recording "New Weave." They gained recognition by performing with Benny Goodman at the Aurex Jazz Festival in Japan in 1980. Rare Silk disbanded in 1988.
