Ras Michael is a Jamaican singer and percussionist born in 1943 in St. Mary, Jamaica. He grew up in a Rasta community where he learned Nyahbinghi drumming. Around 1967, he founded a band with the help of notable figures and the voice of the youth. He established a label and became prominent around 1974. Currently, he resides in California.
