Rat Section is an experimental electronic project currently based in London, UK. Formed by Ratty Sleigh Johnny and Soopi aka Soops, they have been active since 2021. The duo has an intriguing backstory, as they were supposedly formed in 1989 and disappeared in the late 1990s, leaving a sparse and largely inaccessible back catalogue. This has led to a dedicated collecting community known as ‘Club Rodentia’ that sought to preserve their past works, including releases like ‘Tails from Estonia’ and ‘Tashkent Knights.’ In 2005, a tragic incident resulted in the destruction of much of this archive, leaving fans and collectors without access to Rat Section's body of work. However, after years of obscurity, Rat Section has re-emerged, performing in cities such as London, Berlin, Malmö, Melbourne, Paris, and Los Angeles. They are set to release their debut album on Halcyon Veil, marking their return to the spotlight after a long hiatus. Rat Section continues to intrigue audiences with their elusive and experimental sound.
