Rattus Rex was founded in 1987 by Winfried Pickart. The band operated both as a live ensemble with five musicians and as a home studio project featuring various lineups, including Winnie solo, a duo with Gaby Tiger, and collaborations with guest musicians. Following the separation of Winnie and Gaby, the band disbanded in 1991. Gaby continued to perform with the live musicians of Rattus Rex, forming her own band, "High Flight," which later became the "Gaby Tiger Band." She continued to perform live until the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
