Raw Silk was a New York–based post-disco group formed in the early 1980s, best known for their hit “Do It to the Music.” Emerging from the remnants of Crown Heights Affair and other Prelude Records acts, the group blended funk, soul, and dancefloor-ready grooves that defined the era’s club sound. With infectious basslines, smooth vocals, and sophisticated production, Raw Silk became a staple of the early ‘80s dance scene, leaving a lasting influence on modern disco and house music.
