Ray Brown was an American jazz double bassist, born on 13 October 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He passed away on 2 July 2002 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, at the age of 75. Brown was the bassist for an unspecified artist from 1951. He was the ex-husband of a jazz singer and the father of a jazz pianist/singer.
