Ray Columbus, OBE (born 4 November 1942, Christchurch, New Zealand – died 29 November 2016, Auckland, New Zealand) was a prominent New Zealand singer, songwriter, television host, music manager, and entertainer, with a career that spanned six decades. He gained fame as the lead singer of a band known for their hit single "She's a Mod," released in 1964. Following his time with the Invaders, Columbus embarked on a solo career in New Zealand and spent 18 months performing in the United States. From 1968 onwards, he focused on artist management, working with various artists until 1972 and then continuing independently. In the late 1990s, he discovered the New Zealand band Zed, which included the son of one of his 1960s clients. Additionally, Columbus served for many years as the writers' representative on the board of the Australasian Performing Rights Association (APRA).
