Ray Stanley, born Stanley Nussbaum on July 24, 1924, in Dermott, Arkansas, was a talented songwriter and vocalist. He passed away on April 26, 1992. Stanley collaborated with Jack Lewis at American Music, contributing to the Crest label's first four releases. In May 1956, his song 'Glendora' was covered by Perry Como, whose rendition reached the top ten on RCA. After Lewis departed from American Music to establish Sherman Music with Billy Sherman, Ray played piano on Eddie Cochran's early sessions at Gold Star Studio in mid-1956, including tracks like 'Skinny Jim', 'Half Loved', and 'My Love To Remember'. Later in 1956, he recorded several demos of his original songs, which gained recognition for featuring Eddie Cochran on guitar, showcasing some of his best licks. These songs included 'Market Place', 'Pushin', 'Love Charms', 'My Lovin' Baby', and 'Kiss & Make Up'.
