Ray Stevens is an American novelty singer, musician, comedian, songwriter, and producer, born on January 24, 1939, in Clarkdale, Georgia. He is proficient in several instruments and began his production work in the mid-1960s. Stevens made numerous appearances on the Andy Williams TV show during the late 1960s and hosted his own TV show in 1970. He also recorded music as Henhouse Five Plus Two and operated a recording studio in Nashville, TN, during the 1970s.
