R.D. Burman was a renowned Bollywood film composer, born on June 27, 1939, in Calcutta, then British India. He passed away on January 4, 1994, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. As the only child of a music director, Burman was active in the music industry from the 1960s to the 1990s, composing music for over 330 films. He created many super hit songs, often collaborating with his wife, whom he married in 1980, and provided vocals for some of his compositions. Additionally, he composed music for numerous songs sung by his sister-in-law.
