Red Beat was a British post-punk band active from 1979 to 1982. Formed in High Wycombe by brothers Roy, Martin, and Paul Jones—siblings of musician Howard Jones—their sound was influenced by early Killing Joke. After relocating to London in 1980, they released their debut single on Killing Joke's Malicious Damage label. The band gained attention with a John Peel session in December 1980 and performed alongside acts like U2 and Big Country. Despite recording new material for I.R.S. Records in 1982, a contract didn't materialize, leading to their disbandment later that year. ([de.wikipedia.org](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Beat?utm_source=openai))
