**Bio of Renato e seu Blue Caps** Renato e seu Blue Caps is a Brazilian musical group formed by the Barros brothers: Renato, Paulo Cezar, and Edson (Ed Wilson). The band emerged in the late 1950s, inspired by rock and roll icons like Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and Bill Haley. Initially performing on radio programs, they honed their musical skills and eventually adopted the name "Rock Bacaninhas of Mercy." They later changed their name to Renato e seu Blue Caps, inspired by Gene Vincent. The group gained recognition in 1960 after winning a competition on the radio program "Today is a day of Rock." They recorded their first 78 rpm disc and began to establish their presence in the music scene. By 1963, they signed with CBS and released several successful records, including the Portuguese version of The Beatles' "I Should Have Known Better," titled "Beautiful Girl." This song became a hit and significantly boosted their popularity. Throughout the 1960s, Renato e seu Blue Caps became known for their interpretations of international hits, often achieving greater success in Brazil than the original versions.
