**Bio of Renato E Seus Blue Caps** Renato E Seus Blue Caps is a Brazilian rock band formed by the Barros brothers—Renato, Paulo Cezar, and Edson (Ed Wilson)—in the late 1950s in Rio de Janeiro. Influenced by the rock and roll sounds of Elvis, Little Richard, and Bill Haley, the brothers began performing on radio programs, eventually transitioning to live music after a challenging radio show experience. Initially named "Rock Bacaninhas of Mercy," they later adopted the name "Renato and His Blue Caps," inspired by Gene Vincent. The band gained recognition after winning a talent contest on a radio program and recorded their first disc in 1960. They achieved significant success in the early 1960s, releasing multiple 78s and LPs, and became known for their performances on TV and radio. In 1965, they released the LP "Viva Youth," featuring the hit "Beautiful Girl," which propelled them into the national spotlight. Throughout the late 1960s, Renato E Seus Blue Caps became known for their interpretations of Beatles songs and developed their own unique style. They released several successful LPs and were integral to the Young Guard music movement.
