Renee & Angela were an early-'80s soul duo hailing from Los Angeles. Formed in 1977, René Moore, the brother of Rufus' Bobby Watson, previously played with the Brothers Johnson, while Angela Winbush provided backup vocals for artists like Dolly Parton, Lenny Williams, and Jean Carn. The duo achieved their first R&B hit with Capitol Records in 1980 and followed up with seven additional hits over the next three years. In 1985, they transitioned to Mercury Records, where they released the number one R&B hit "Save Your Love (For #1)" from their album Street Called Desire. Over the following year, they scored three more Top Ten hits, including the number one R&B single "Your Smile" and the number two hit "You Don't Have to Cry," before embarking on solo careers in the mid-'80s.
