Reparata and the Delrons were formed in 1962 at St. Brendan's Catholic School in Brooklyn, New York. The group initially consisted of five members, led by lead singer Mary Aiese, who was born on December 31, 1945. Aiese adopted the name "Reparata" from one of her favorite teachers, believing it to be more marketable than her given names, Mary and Katherine. The original lineup included Nanette Licari, Regina Gallagher, and Anne Fitzgerald, but they were soon replaced by Sheila Reilly, Carol Drobnicki, and Cathy Romeo. After Romeo's departure, Marge McGuire joined the group. The trio achieved significant success with their hit song, "I'm Nobody's Baby Now," released in 1966.
