Repulsion was formed in 1985 in Flint, Michigan, originally under a different name. The band was influenced by various acts, including bands from the NWOBHM movement. The lineup consisted of Scott Carlson (vocals, bass), Aaron Freeman (guitar), Matt Olivo (guitar), and Dave Grave (drums). They recorded the 'Stench of Burning Death' demo in January 1986. To avoid confusion with other bands named Genocide, they changed their name to Repulsion. In 1986, members of Florida's Death invited Scott and Matt to move to Florida, which led to a temporary hiatus for Repulsion. Later that year, they returned to Michigan, reformed, and recorded the 'Slaughter Of The Innocent' LP. Although it was intended to be released on Earp's own label, Wyatt Earp Records, this did not happen. The band played their final show in January 1988. In 1989, members Scott and Matt released 'Slaughter Of The Innocent' under a different name.
