Rex Williams was a Nigerian trumpet player and bandleader born in the 1930s in Etinan, Akwa Ibom state. He began his music career in the 1950s, initially playing in the Salvation Army Band, where he learned to play the trumpet and gained an understanding of music structure. His journey into professional music was inspired by a performance from E.T. Mensah at a radio station in Enugu, where he was working at the time. Rex Williams passed away in 2022.
