Richard "Nappy" Mayers (1951-1993) was a remarkably talented musician, composer, arranger, producer, and singer. He began his life in a time that did not fully allow for the exploration of his creative potential. From his teenage years, he demonstrated a natural ability to craft distinctive and appealing melodies, drawing inspiration from the significant musical influences of his time, particularly from American, Jamaican, and his native Trinidad and Tobago. Charismatic and a natural leader, Nappy's deep passion for creating, performing, and producing innovative music inspired the initial band members, who were primarily relatives and close friends. Their loyalty and willingness to collaborate with him were instrumental in the widespread popularity of his music.
