Richard Sen, a former London graffiti artist, began his DJing career in 1989 and has since become an esteemed figure in the dance music scene, known for his unpredictable and engaging performances. With a deep understanding of dance-floor dynamics, his sets weave together a rich tapestry of sounds from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, blending retro and future influences across genres such as disco, Italo, house, electro, breakbeat, and techno. Sen has released music under his own name and previously as Bronx Dogs (1997-2003) and Padded Cell (2005-2012). His work includes singles on his label, Darkness Is Your Candle, as well as collaborations with labels like Klasse Wrecks and Public Release. He has remixed notable artists including Bryan Ferry, John Grant, Unloved, and LCD Soundsystem. Padded Cell's music featured in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto 4 and the HBO comedy series Eastbound and Down. In 2012, he released the compilation This Ain't Chicago on Strut Records, which was recognized in Beatport's top ten house documentaries. His latest compilation, Dream The Dream on Ransom Note Recs, was voted Best British Compilation of 2023 by DJ Magazine.
