Rie Nakajima is a Japanese artist known for her installations and performances that create sound. Her works are often tailored to specific architectural spaces, utilizing a blend of kinetic devices and found objects. Nakajima has exhibited and performed extensively in the UK and internationally. Since 2013, she has collaborated with David Toop to produce ‘Sculpture.’ Additionally, she has a music project called 'O YAMA O' with Keiko Yamamoto, which explores genre-less music. She also collaborates with Pierre Berthet on the project ‘Dead Plants/Living Objects.’ Recently, she held her first major solo exhibition at IKON Gallery in Birmingham.
