Rivet is a Malmö-based artist whose debut album, On Feather and Wire, was released in late 2020 on the esteemed Editions Mego label, marking a significant milestone in his 20-year career. The album showcased a blend of punk spirit, industrial pulse, sensual atmospherics, and body music, revealing Rivet's capabilities honed through his work with the Kess Kill record label and his previous projects as Grovskopa and Rivet. His sound is characterized by a sophisticated slink and an accessible twist of pop, while remaining rooted in dance music. In Winter 2023, Rivet released his second album, L+P-2, on Midnight Shift Records, which was described by Resident Advisor as “A touching and occasionally searing portrait of grief through the lens of post-punk techno.” This album featured remixes by artists such as Hodge, Nik Void, and Hüma Utku, among others. In 2023, he collaborated with electronic musician and composer Luis Pestana and double-bassist Gregory Vartian-Foss for a special commission and performance at the SHAPE+/INTONAL Festival. Rivet is currently working on his third album, Peck Glamour, set to release on Editions MEGO in March 2025, which acknowledges his dancefloor roots. Additionally, he will be producing and mixing Sandwell District’s new album, End Beginnings, also scheduled for release in March 2025.
