Robert Drasnin was an American composer and jazz reed player, known for his proficiency on the alto and tenor saxophones, clarinet, and flute. Born on November 17, 1927, in Charleston, West Virginia, he passed away on May 13, 2015, in Tarzana, California. Drasnin played and recorded with various big bands throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including notable performances with a quintet from 1956 to 1958. He composed scores for numerous television series, including The Twilight Zone, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Mission: Impossible, and Lost In Space. In 2008, he was inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame.
