Robert Farnon was born on July 24, 1917, in Toronto, Ontario, and passed away on April 23, 2005, in Guernsey. He was a composer and arranger known for his work in film scores and 'Light Music.' A skilled jazz trumpeter, Farnon served as a captain in the Canadian Army during World War II and conducted the Canadian Band of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF).
