Robert Gordon is an influential electronic producer and sound engineer from Sheffield, UK. He is a co-founder of Warp Records and was part of the group Forgemasters, which released the debut track "Track with No Name" in 1989. Gordon has a rich background in the local music scene, having worked with various artists such as Krush, Age Of Chance, and Pop Will Eat Itself. His contributions helped shape the early sound of Warp Records and the "Bass and Bleep" genre, which fused Detroit techno with British experimental minimalism. In 1996, he released a solo single as Black Knight on David Moufang's Source imprint, along with a full-length LP and an EP co-produced with Moufang under the name "View To View." That same year, he also collaborated with Pete Namlook on the album Ozoona, released on the Fax label. Currently, Gordon runs Trash & Ready Records and operates his own mastering, production, and mixing facility. He has worked with numerous artists, including Jenny Romeo, Kid Acne, Toddla T, Bromheads Jacket, I-Monster, and Roots Manuva.
