Robert Mersey was an accomplished arranger, composer, producer, and musical director, born on April 7, 1917, in New York City, New York. He passed away on December 14, 1994, in Baltimore, Maryland. Throughout his career, Mersey worked for CBS television and Columbia Records, serving as their staff arranger and musical director. He was instrumental in creating vocal arrangements for artists such as Frankie Avalon, Jimmy Clanton, and Stubby Kaye. Additionally, he produced some of the label's most successful 1960s vocals, including Barbra Streisand's "My Name is Barbra" and the hit "Moon River" by Andy Williams.
