Robert Palmer was a British pop-rock vocalist, songwriter, and musician, born on January 19, 1949, in Batley, Yorkshire, England. He passed away from a heart attack in Paris, France, on September 26, 2003, at the age of 54. Palmer relocated to Lugano, Switzerland, in 1986, where he lived until his death, and he became a naturalized Swiss citizen in 1993.
