Rocky "Rockie" Campbell was a Jamaican singer who emigrated to the UK in 1956, driven by his ambition to succeed in music. He joined a band and quickly established himself as a talented performer, gaining recognition in London's renowned Flamingo and Marquee clubs. His first album, "Rhythm and Rock," showcased his Rhythm & Blues style. In addition to performing, he worked as a DJ at Ronnie Scott's, one of the most popular jazz clubs in London's West End. Rockie formed a band called "The Cyclone and Travel" with Lindel John and toured the UK alongside various artists. Notably, established artists provided backing vocals for him throughout his career. Rocky Campbell passed away on April 5th, 2024.
