Roger Doyle (born 1949, Dublin, Ireland) is a former jazz and rock drummer, as well as a scholarship music student at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Ireland, The Institute of Sonology in the Netherlands, and the Finnish Radio Experimental Music Studio. He is a co-founder of the music-theatre company Operating Theatre. In 1997, he received the Programme Music Prize at the Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Competition in France. In 1999, Operating Theatre produced a multimedia show titled Angel/Babel, which utilized customized realtime interactive sensor software. That same year, to commemorate his 50th birthday, Roger Doyle released his magnum opus Babel as a 5-CD set, the culmination of ten years of work celebrating the diversity of musical language.
