Rogier van Otterloo was a talented pianist, composer, arranger, and conductor born on December 11, 1941, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He passed away on January 29, 1988, in Bilthoven, Netherlands. He was the son of a notable figure and the father of a composer, arranger, saxophonist, and conductor. Van Otterloo is probably best known for his film music compositions for Paul Verhoeven-directed movies, including "Turks Fruit" (Turkish Delight) in 1973 and "Soldaat van Oranje" (Soldier of Orange) in 1977. He served as the Chief Conductor of the Metropole Orkest from September 1, 1980, until his death in 1988.
