Rolf Billberg was a Swedish jazz saxophonist born on August 22, 1930, in Lund, Sweden. He became a military musician at the age of 17, initially playing the clarinet. After four years, he switched to the tenor saxophone, but he later made his main contribution as an alto saxophonist. During the 1950s, he was recognized as an alto saxophonist of high international class, influenced primarily by Lee Konitz. Billberg often performed alongside trumpeter Jan Allan. He passed away on August 17, 1966, in Uddevalla, Sweden.
