Romona Collins was born in Toledo in 1948 and moved to Lansing, Michigan, at the age of two. At 20, she returned to Toledo to experience her birthplace and began performing in local clubs. She became part of the Glass City Review, a collective of Toledo's soul acts, which was sponsored by the Clarks. They later established their own record label. In mid to late 1969, she released her only recording, which received some exposure despite her name being misspelled as "Romona" on the record.
