Ron Wright is a founding member of Hula and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in Sound Design at Sheffield Hallam University. He is a practitioner of sound in film and art, focusing on the concept of ‘Sound and Space’. Wright's recent work as a sound designer includes Charlotte Ginsborg’s films The Mirroring Cure (2006), Over The Bones (2008), and Melior Street (2011), which have been screened extensively internationally. His multi-channel projects for gallery and live performance feature collaborations with Andy Eccleston in sci-art. In November 2012, his film The Blast was previewed at Chat Olympiad in York. He has collaborated with fellow Senior Lecturer Neil Webb on various projects, including the live surround sound work A Colony Provides a Safe Haven, part of the Contingency of Curation at Tate Britain in 2010, and The Breach (2007), which premiered at Consortium, Amsterdam, in December 2008, as well as the film Summoning Shadows with a live soundtrack (2013).
